Police officers arrested Ronny Javier “N” as a suspect in the murder of a man whose body was found a few days ago in the Progreso swamp. The detainee was brought before a judge, as he faces charges of homicide after killing the victim in a neighborhood of Progreso.

The crime occurred on July 31, and according to the Forensic Medical Service report, death was due to suffocation by strangulation.

The events took place in the last hours of the day, when Ronny Javier and the deceased were on 41st Street between 94 and 94-A in the Canul Reyes neighborhood. For unknown reasons, Ronny attacked and strangled the other man.

Afterwards, taking advantage of the fact that they were on the banks of the swamp, he threw away the body. It was the next day that the corpse was found floating and the neighbors called the police.

Based on inquiries and videos from the video surveillance system of the Yucatecan police and cameras from homes and private companies, it was possible to establish Ronny Javier’s participation in the crime, so he was arrested as a suspect.

Due to the dangerousness of the subject, the Judge determined that he will remain imprisoned for the entire time that the process against him takes.
