A new case of animal cruelty has outraged the community of animal protectors in Mérida and the residents of the Chuburná neighborhood, where people decapitated a dog.
The event was reported this Saturday, August 12, by activists from several animal rights groups such as “Rescatistas Independientes Unidos”, “Sanando Corazones Perrunos”, “La Casa de Aidita” and “Ayudando Peluditos”.
This Saturday, representatives of various animal rights associations denounced the beheading of a dog in the Chuburná neighborhood to the authorities.
“We found out that they had killed him and we came when we arrived we asked the lady to give it to us so that ‘it doesn’t bother them anymore’, but she told me that she can’t because her son had killed him,” said Elsa Arceo, a protection activist. animal about the death of “Rufino”.

Elsa Arceo pointed out that they are going to present the corresponding complaints to the State Prosecutor’s Office and called on the Government of Yucatán to help stop and punish cases of animal cruelty like this.
The activists also denounced threats from the family that lives in the house where the dog was decapitated. Elsa Arceo said that one of them threatened her with a machete.
The State Investigation Police arrived at the scene to carry out the corresponding investigations.
