Anti-drug policy cannot be limited to prohibition: UNAM

In 2020, approximately 284 million people worldwide, aged 15 to 64, consumed narcotics, according to the 2022 Annual Drug Report from the UN.

In the case of Mexico, fentanyl is the greatest challenge facing our country and requires international cooperation, stated UNAM specialist Imer Flores Mendoza.

It is necessary for Mexico to review its drug policy, to question which substances could be removed or reclassified from the list of permitted substances established by the International Narcotics Control Board (INCB-UN), proposed the specialist.
