In response to an increase in witchcraft rituals in the municipality of Seyé, authorities have tightened security around a cemetery in Yucatan to apprehend those responsible for these acts of vandalism.

As previously reported, there has been a surge in vandalism in the Seyé cemetery and various parts of the municipality in recent weeks. Ritual remains associated with witchcraft, including skulls presumably exhumed from graves, have been discovered.

Given the consistent reports and concerns raised by residents, the Municipal Police were requested to enhance surveillance at the cemetery to preserve the graves of their loved ones. As a result, an operation was initiated to locate the culprits and maintain order in the cemetery.

During the operations, two men were found attempting to scale a wall, prompting actions to apprehend the suspects.

Additionally, Municipal Police reported sighting two men fleeing on a motorcycle after allegedly placing a salt cross and black candles.

It is noteworthy that authorities are actively searching for the alleged perpetrators in order to curb these cases of vandalism.

It has been suggested that individuals detained for witchcraft-related acts could be prosecuted for violating the law with crimes against public health, particularly violations of the integrity of municipal spaces, such as cemeteries.
