Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal continues to tour the state’s territory, reaching every corner of Yucatán to deliver assistance that enhances and improves the quality of life for the Yucatec people who need it most. On this occasion, he visited the eastern part of the state, in the municipality of Calotmul, where he provided support through programs such as “Peso a Peso,” Genetic Improvement, Microyuc Social, Social Housing, and equipment delivery to the House of Culture.
During his work visit to this municipality, the Governor informed the residents that, with great effort, they are providing support to boost agriculture, livestock, and farming, improving the living conditions of the most vulnerable people through housing initiatives and promoting small businesses. All of this is part of the transformation of Yucatán.
Joined by the local mayor, Luis Fernely Polanco Tun, Vila Dosal reaffirmed his support to producers by delivering support through the “Peso a Peso” program. This initiative benefits 168 producers in this locality with an investment of over 2 million pesos. This is part of a larger effort that will benefit more than 16,970 individuals with over 385,500 products including supplies, tools, and equipment.
The Secretary of Rural Development (Seder), Jorge Díaz Loeza, stated, “This is one of the most anticipated programs by producers in the state. The support is provided without any political bias and is directed to those who truly need it. It represents strong backing to boost their activities and improve their economy and that of their families.”
As part of the push for livestock activities, the Governor also distributed support through the Genetic Improvement program, which aids producers in enhancing the genetic quality of their animals. This assistance provides 20,000 pesos for bovine sires and 6,000 pesos for ovines, with a state investment of 20 million pesos.
Subsequently, at the Calotmul municipal dome and alongside the Secretary of Social Development (Sedesol), Roger Torres Peniche, the Governor distributed certificates for the Social Housing program. With an investment of over 1 million pesos, this year’s actions will include building floors, kitchens, bathrooms, and rooms for 10 families living in vulnerable situations, to improve their quality of life.
Likewise, to boost the economy of entrepreneurs, the Governor provided an economic stimulus of 10,000 pesos through the Microyuc Social program, enabling businesses to continue growing and generating more jobs in the community.
In his final intervention, Governor Mauricio Vila, along with the head of the Ministry of Culture and the Arts (Sedeculta), Loreto Villanueva Trujillo, handed out kits consisting of keyboards, speakers, and two microphones to enable more girls, boys, and young people to better prepare themselves.
