A savings fund of the union of workers of the government of Mexico City reported the disappearance of money for an amount of 2,225 pesos per worker, in an operation similar to the one that Colima workers denounced a few weeks ago, with the purpose of nourishing money Claudia Sheinbaum’s campaign.
It is a savings fund contemplated in the contract that Mexico City’s administration has with the union. And for some strange reason, this week the different agencies began to discover that part of the money from the fund was not there anymore.
The workers were told that the money went to the campaign of the former head of government of Mexico City Claudia Sheinbaum, currently campaigning to be the presidential candidate of the Morena party, of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
About this, the Coordinator of the Permanent Forum of Workers of the Government of Mexico City, Adriana Díaz Bustamante, confirmed that the workers suffered this crime, opposing the Ministry of Finance that denied that resources have been taken from the workers.
The affected workers have carried out some protests demanding that the head of government, Martí Batres, pay them their full money, as can be seen in videos on social networks.
In a press release, the Workers’ Forum stated that it is a “possible illegal act that represents property damage to 180,000 workers from various local agencies.”
According to this document, the workers have been in talks with the authorities on this issue for more than a month.
They demand transparency and “the missing back pay” of the money. Also, the statement from the Ministry of Finance, denies that an agreement has been reached with said agency since there is no legal representative authorized to sign on behalf of the workers.
The Ministry of Finance assured that it is an attempt to affect the image of “Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum.”
“It is absolutely false that resources from the savings fund have been taken from the workers. The representation of the Single Union of Government Workers of Mexico City participates in the steering committee in charge of the trust, and is part of the decisions, while being informed of the results and the amounts to be distributed to each worker “, said.
“Furthermore, it is false that the Government of Mexico City has used resources from ‘yields’ to finance political campaigns, because there is no way that public servants can dispose of part or all of the resources, this even threatens against the law.”
