The port’s boardwalk once again saw the arrival of SSP patrols and Red Cross paramedics to its vicinity, this time due to a worker who had an accident during his work shift, falling from a height of two meters and sustaining injuries that required hospitalization.
The incident occurred around three in the afternoon on 80th Street between 21st and 23rd Streets. A momentary lapse caused the worker to fall, prompting his colleagues to call 911 for assistance. In addition to the pain suffered by the collaborator who was performing installations at the site, he also remained disoriented on the floor of the establishment.
The injured party was identified as Denis O.A.C., 50 years old. The company took care of the medical expenses since the incident occurred during working hours. The man was evaluated at the American Medical Center in the center of Progreso.
It’s worth noting that this was the second consecutive intervention by authorities on the “Romeo Frías Bobadilla” boardwalk. Last Wednesday, an elderly woman suffered from the effects of heatstroke during her time on the beach.
