Agents of the Municipal Police of Mérida closed the 67th street from the 64th to 66th in downtown, due to a fire in an abandoned property.

According to witnesses, last Saturday at 7 p.m., people let officers know about the fire of a property that has been empty for several years.

While the firefighters arrived, the police officers started fighting the fire on the house’s front yard.

Minutes later, the fire brigade arrived and immediately extinguished the fire and prevented the flames from spreading to the rest of the building. The only thing that burned was garbage accumulated in the property’s yard.

The police agents were in charge of closing the streets to people and vehicles, while the firefighters were putting out the fire in its entirety.
