With a sentence of 13 years and 6 months in prison, an abbreviated trial hearing was concluded in the Second Control Court of the First Judicial District, in Mérida, in which WBAM was found criminally responsible for the crime of aggravated equated sexual abuse (2), committed against a minor under 11 years of age.

Taking advantage of the trust placed in him, for being the victim’s grandfather, WBAM committed lewd acts against the minor, on two occasions between January 2018 and January 2019, which were duly accredited by the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), and for which he was finally sentenced. The events were recorded on a property in the Pacabtún subdivision, the first time when the subject held the minor’s hand while he touched his private parts; the second time, when he lewdly touched her while the little girl was lying in her hammock. After being found responsible for the crime, the subject was sentenced to the aforementioned custodial sentence, in addition to having to repair the damage, he will not be able to approach the victim for a period of three years once the sentence has been completed. In the development of the hearing, the reading and explanation of the sentence were waived, so the sanction remained firm.
