A minor was injured after being assaulted in Ciudad Caucel, ending up in a hospital in Mérida.
The incident occurred in a lot on 77th Street at the intersection with 68th Street in the Ciudad Caucel subdivision, when a group of wrongdoers brutally attacked a young person, who turned out to be a minor.
According to information gathered, the attackers were allegedly acquaintances of the minor, although this has yet to be confirmed, as they fled the scene after leaving the young person severely injured.
Neighbours who noticed the young person rushed to help him as he was left lying next to a pile of rocks, unable to move.
After providing assistance, the neighbours notified the authorities. Officers from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) arrived at the scene, took note of the incident, and requested an ambulance from the same department.
Upon the arrival of the paramedics, first aid was administered. However, due to the extent of his injuries and his overall condition, he was loaded into an ambulance and transported to a hospital in Mérida.
The whereabouts of the attackers are unknown as they fled the scene. Due to the young person’s health condition, a search operation for their identification couldn’t be initiated.
As of the time of writing, the minor’s health status and identity remain unknown. The authorities are keeping the case confidential, which has caused shock in Mérida due to the severity of the assault.
