The Yucatan Potable Water and Sewerage Board (Japay) reported that over 40 neighborhoods were left without water due to a pipe breakage.
According to Japay’s announcement, the breakage occurred in the main pipeline leading from Plant III, causing disruptions in water supply for 49 neighborhoods and housing developments in Mérida, leaving them without potable water.
After the water supply interruption, a call was made to the community to take necessary precautions.
It should be noted that the plant will be operating at 30% capacity while the agency’s personnel carry out the necessary repairs.
