With the delivery of housing and agricultural support, as well as the reinforcement of security, Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal is driving the transformation of Oxkutzcab into its best version, providing greater opportunities for Yucatecan families to improve their quality of life.
During a work tour in this municipality in the southern state, Vila Dosal announced that the Central de Abastos (Wholesale Market) of Oxkutzcab will undergo remodeling and expansion, aiming to enhance the market potential for products from this region. This project will not only benefit the municipality but also the southern region of the state.
In his address, Vila Dosal mentioned that, at this moment, a thousand people from Oxkutzcab are receiving support, including 900 beneficiaries from the “Peso a Peso” program, 100 individuals receiving housing assistance, and an additional 700 families supported through the fertilizer program.
Addressing the local community, Vila Dosal stated that, for the first time in the State Government, an office will be opened in the city of San Francisco, United States, to assist Yucatecans living there. This office will offer services such as migrant support and counseling, repatriation of human remains, document issuance, training and certifications, cultural promotion, and the “Cabecitas Blancas” program.
Accompanied by the host Mayor, Juan José Martín Fragoso, Vila Dosal continued the distribution of “Peso a Peso” support to benefit 900 producers, with an investment of more than 10 million pesos. Additionally, he presented housing action certificates to benefit 100 families.
Regarding this support to the inhabitants of Oxkutzcab, Martín Fragoso thanked the Governor for the distributed aid, especially in the field of agriculture, which is a crucial activity for the southern region of the state. He expressed, “Thank you, Governor, for promoting programs like ‘Peso a Peso’ and ‘Vivienda Social.’ Delivering them to a significant area like Oxkutzcab, let’s continue working hard for the field to achieve a better future for Oxkutzcab.” This statement was made in the presence of Roger Torres Peniche, the Secretary of Social Development (Sedesol).
Regarding the support, Jorge Díaz Loeza, the Secretary of Rural Development (Seder), mentioned that the state government’s aid also included the distribution of approximately 5,000 bags of fertilizer to more than 40 municipalities in the state.
Subsequently, the Governor, along with the Secretary of Public Security (SSP), Luis Felipe Saidén Ojeda, made a supervisory visit to the SSP’s Monitoring and Command Center in the locality. This infrastructure reinforces security in the area by increasing the number of security cameras from 16 to 120 and installing three reader arches throughout the locality.
