The next “Noche Blanca” (White Night) is tentatively scheduled for November, with the 25th as the main date and the night before, the 24th, as the eve, as informed by Irving Berlín Villafaña, the Director of Culture of the Municipality of Mérida.
“We’re just starting the planning process, but we’re aiming for an innovative spectacle. Noche Blanca should be youthful, with many new things on the horizon,” he said.
Regarding the change in dates, considering that last year’s Noche Blanca took place in October, he explained that only the one held in the first half of the year has a fixed date in October. However, for the second half of the year, the date is more flexible and influenced by other factors in determining it.
“We’ve held the second half’s event in December or October; it doesn’t have a fixed date. The fact that it coincides with the convention season plays a role, and we try to ensure that visitors can also enjoy it. This way, we cater to the people of Mérida while also providing visitors with an important weekend of art and culture.”
In that same week of November 25th, it is known that the CONCANACO National Convention will be held in Mérida, which means both events will coincide, similar to what happened last year when Noche Blanca was held in October to coincide with the national Canacintra convention.
Lastly, he mentioned that among the performances being prepared is an ensemble featuring the City Choir, the Chamber Orchestra, and the Children and Youth Orchestra. They will debut this ensemble in a concert as part of the 800 activities planned for Noche Blanca.
