A 13-year-old girl fell victim to the crime of rape by an individual who contacted her through Facebook, as reported by the victim’s mother.

The individual, José Rudesindo M. I., was arrested today by agents of the State Investigation Police (PEI) under the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE).

The arrest follows a warrant issued by a Control Judge, based on evidence presented by the investigative police and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, which establishes the suspect’s probable involvement.

According to the complaint, using the profile “José Medina,” the accused, aged 21, connected with the minor through Facebook. Subsequently, he took her to a ranch where he worked as a laborer, situated between the municipalities of Sucilá and Panabá, where the abuse occurred.

The investigative agents and prosecutors brought him before the judge overseeing the criminal process for the offense of aggravated rape.
