Rescuers from the Rescue and Medical Emergency Squadron (ERUM) of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) of Mexico City collaborated in the rescue of an individual and a dog who fell into a ravine located in Chapultepec Forest, within the boundaries of the Miguel Hidalgo borough.

After reporting the incident, SSC sector officers arrived at the scene on José María Velasco and Joaquín Claussell streets in the Lomas Altas neighborhood, where a 28-year-old woman explained that her friend had volunteered to descend into the ravine to help her dog, which had fallen into the ravine and subsequently became trapped.

Immediately, the officers requested the appropriate emergency services. ERUM personnel, along with members of the Mexican Red Cross, Civil Protection, and the Heroic Fire Department, arrived at the location and carried out vertical and alpine rescue operations in a coordinated manner to save the citizen and the dog.
