A 13-year-old teenager died after being beaten by a man who broke into his home, located in the municipality of Calotmul, in eastern Yucatán.
The events occurred on the night of Thursday, August 31, when the minor managed to call the 911 emergency service for help, since a man arrived at his property, located on 16th Street, kicking the door and yelling that he was going to kill him.
The minor indicated that he was hiding in the house, fearful of the violent subject. Unfortunately, the assailant managed to enter the house and hit the minor on the head with a metal tube, causing his death.
During an operation, agents of the State Investigative Police (PEI) of the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) captured Shair “N”, 32 years old, originally from Cozumel, Quintana Roo, accused of taking the life of the minor.
State police agents placed the accused at the disposal of the Public Ministry, who will define his legal situation and proceed with the criminal process. So far there is no official version of why the man attacked the minor.
According to neighbors at the crime scene, the deceased minor and his father had robbed Shair’s business, who reported the crime to the authorities, who did nothing. Later, the minor’s father went to the affected person’s house and assaulted his daughters.
For this reason, Shair went to the thief’s house, with whom he started a fight. At a certain point, the boy intervened in the fight and received the blow that killed him.
