MOTUL, Yucatan, September 06, 2023.- Following the knife attack suffered by a young woman in the streets of Motul, in an alleged attempted assault, the Directorate of Public Security and Traffic (DSPV) reported that it launched a police operation on Monday and captured the assailant.
The detainee was identified as Jaziel B.H.M., 23 years of age, who, according to information provided by families to the municipal authorities, is a schizophrenic patient and has been admitted to the psychiatric hospital.
The municipal corporation explained that yesterday, Monday, a subject assaulted a woman who was on the public road, the elements of the police arrived in a matter of minutes to the scene and proceeded with the search operation for the attacker.
“Thanks to the collaboration of several neighbors, the person was located and secured in the course of the night,” he specified.
The DSPV proceeded to contact the affected person to inform her about the arrest and ask her to proceed legally before the State Attorney General’s Office, in agency 24 of this city.

As we reported, a video was broadcast on social networks showing a motorcyclist attacking a young woman who was making a cell phone call on the street.
The assaulted woman struggled with the subject and managed to escape and enter a house, but was injured with a knife carried by the alleged assailant.
