Mexico City.- President Andrés Manuel López heads this Sunday the first test run of the Interoceanic Passenger Train, which is part of the Interoceanic Corridor project in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec.
Together with the governor of Oaxaca, Salomón Jara, and the governor of Veracruz, Cuitláhuac García, as well as members of his cabinet, the president travels in this means of transportation that will connect the port of Salina Cruz, Oaxaca, with the port of Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz, a route in which there will also be freight train routes, to connect the Pacific with the Gulf of Mexico, in addition to industrial development poles.
Through social networks, the governor of Oaxaca and several secretaries of state disseminated images showing the federal chief executive aboard the train.
“We started with our President @lopezobrador_, the test run of the Interoceanic Corridor passenger train in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, we are accompanied by the Secretary of the Navy, Rafael Ojeda Durán (@AlmiranteSrio), and the governor of Veracruz, @CuitlahuacGJ. A historic moment!”, said the Oaxacan governor.
Among others, the Secretary of the Navy, José Rafael Ojeda Durán, and the head of Sedatu, Román Meyer, will be present.
Through social networks, users have replicated videos in which people applaud the passing of the locomotive in a region which, until the privatization of the sector, was known as a railroad zone.
