There is a lot of secrecy and shock surrounding the discovery of a deceased couple inside a property in Mérida.
The incident took place on a property located on 18E Street with 39 in the San Pedro Cholul neighborhood.
While this case is being kept under wraps, it has been learned that an ambulance from the Public Security Secretariat (SSP) arrived at the scene to assist the couple, but they could only confirm their deaths.
What is causing shock in this case is that there is no presumption of a crime or a suicide pact.
According to unofficial information, the body of a woman, allegedly wrapped in a sheet, was found inside the property, while the body of a man was discovered hanging from the neck. This has led to speculation about a possible case of femicide and suicide or that the couple reached an agreement and mutually decided to end their lives.
Following the discovery of the bodies, the property was cordoned off for the necessary investigations.
Officers from the State Police Investigation (PEI) and the SSP arrived at the scene to conduct the relevant investigations. It was reported that they were interviewing neighbors to see if they could obtain surveillance camera footage.
Additionally, personnel from the Forensic Medical Service (Semefo) were present to remove the bodies and transport them to the morgue for a legal autopsy to determine the cause of death for the couple.
