Federica Quijano Tapia, a federal legislator from the PVEM (Green Party), has announced her intention to seek the candidacy for governor of Yucatán in the upcoming 2024 elections as part of the Morena-PVEM-PT coalition, according to a statement.

“Yucatán deserves committed and visionary leadership that can address the challenges facing our state today. It is an honor to aspire to the governorship of the state. I am determined to work tirelessly on behalf of the citizens and represent the transformation project that my party and I believe in,” declared the legislator.

She also emphasized that she has visited 89 of the 106 municipalities that make up Yucatán to stay close to the citizens and address the issues affecting them.

Furthermore, she expressed confidence that the survey and the process to determine the candidacy for Yucatán will be conducted with objectivity and impartiality.

“I will request a leave of absence from the Chamber of Deputies to seek the candidacy when the time is right. For now, I will continue working from Congress and in my region, addressing the needs of the people of Yucatán, because my commitment is with and for them,” she concluded.
