Vidulfo Rosales, lawyer for the relatives of the 43 missing Ayotzinapa missing students, stated that they consider that Omar García Harfuch, former commander of the Federal Police in Guerrero should be investigated by the justice system.

“We believe, we have said it, that all the authorities that appear in the report of Alejandro Encinas, architects of the so-called “historical truth”, have to be criminally investigated.”

“An investigation has to be opened and it has to be deepened, because then it would be a contradiction that today we keep Murillo Karam in jail, that there is an arrest warrant against Tomas Zeron de Lucio when they materialized the infamous historical truth, but there were other authorities around who participated in its construction,” he said.

The lawyer declared outside Military Camp 1-A, where the relatives maintained a sit-in to demand that the Mexican Army (SEDENA) hand over all the information it has on the case.

On Wednesday, September 27, when presenting the second report of the Commission for Truth and Access to Justice in the Ayotzinapa case ( COVAJ), the Undersecretary of the Interior, Alejandro Encinas, said that Zeron, head of the Criminal Investigation Agency in the previous six-year term, revealed that the official truth to close the case was constructed in a series of meetings of authorities.

Vidulfo Rosales denied that his request to investigate Omar García Harfuch and Alejandro Encinas’ revelation has electoral purposes as the members of Morena are claiming.

“We are talking about all authorities, it is an issue that has to do with the presentation alive of our 43 comrades and against all those who manipulated and created an investigation that diverted the truth.”

“And this is a demand that all the architects of the historical truth that we have had for a long time be investigated, it has nothing to do with electoral time,” he insisted.

In a press conference, the lawyer and the parents of the 43 also requested that former President Enrique Peña Nieto be investigated because he is mentioned in the Covaj report, and it is obvious that the former Attorney General Jesús Murillo Karam could not have acted alone.

The missing students- parents also consider that president, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador could also be investigated for covering up for the Mexican Army.
