Mexico is known for having several dishes that are undoubtedly delicious, among them tacos, of which we can find a great variety. And although this food is known worldwide, it seems that they are not the best dish of the American continent.
TasteAtlas, a portal specialized in rating desserts, drinks and dishes from all over the world, took on the task of listing the best foods of the American continent and the big surprise is that tacos do not occupy the first place.
The list includes 50 dishes, some of them from Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, the United States or Colombia, and although for Mexicans tacos are the best food in the continent and even in the world, TasteAtlas does not think so.
It was through Twitter that TasteAtlas released the list of the Best Dishes in America and as we told you, the list is made up of 50 foods. Although tacos do not occupy the first place, there are several Mexican preparations that are recognized.
Among the Mexican dishes that appear on the list, besides tacos, are: carnitas, which occupy the eighth place, followed by esquite, which was ranked eleventh.
Cochinita pibil also appears in 12th place, followed by lime soup in 19th place, tacos gobernador in 23rd place and guacamole in 29th place.
That’s not all, since mole, barbacoa, carne asada tacos and gringas occupy the 30th, 32nd, 32nd and 33rd places, respectively. Tacos al pastor ranked 35th, gorditas 37th, chilaquiles 30th and mole poblano 40th.
Finally, tacos al carbon were assigned 45th place, pan de muerto 48th and tacos árabes 50th.
Which is the best dish in the Americas?
According to TasteAtlas, the dish that beat the tacos was the asado from Argentina. Here is the list of the best dishes in the Americas.
