The National Auto Parts Industry (INA) believes that the UAW’s decision to extend the strike will have a marginal effect on Mexico in the short term.
Due to the fact that auto parts exports to the United States are focused on the terminal automotive industry and not on the aftermarket.
“Due to the above, this update does not modify INA’s estimate regarding the effect of the strike, so the production of auto parts at a national level could present an additional decrease of approximately 76 million dollars during the next week.”
This continues to represent a minimal percentage of Mexican auto parts exports to the United States,” he reiterated in a statement.
