With more than 3,000 business appointments scheduled, Travel Mart Cancun will serve to negotiate hotel rates and the following vacation seasons, with the participation of tour operators and travel agencies from 13 countries and 211 buyers.
Jesús Almaguer Salazar, president of the Hotel Association of Cancun, Puerto Morelos, and Isla Mujeres, pointed out that the event brings together 101 exhibitors that will detonate growth, also proposing forceful actions so as not to continue losing strategic markets, in addition to proposing new ones.
“We are putting this event in the international spotlight, so we hope to make it grow even more to keep pushing destinations that are the most important in Latin America,” he said.
In his speech he asked the state and federal authorities to work for the tourism that has stopped arriving, such as the Brazilian and Colombian, in which 400 dollars are lost per tourist, so they asked for clear policies to attend this market and also to recover six flights that were lost.
In the presence of wholesale tour operators participating in this most important event of tourism promotion and marketing in the Caribbean, Governor Mara Lezama stressed that Quintana Roo is the best state to invest and work with all sectors, for which the State Government has become a facilitating instrument.
“Together, we promote a strategic alliance to strengthen tourism activity and generate shared prosperity and that success is reflected in the pockets of the people of Quintana Roo, without anyone being left behind,” said the chief executive.
She emphasized that while Quintana Roo is a world tourism leader, with more than 31.3 million passengers received at the three international airports in 2022, this success is the result of the attention of waiters, kitchen staff, chefs, and all the workers.
The Cancun Travel Mart is an annual event of relevance in the tourism industry and is a business platform that brings together industry representatives such as hotels, travel agencies, airlines, and other tourism service providers, with national and international buyers.
