After a three-hour meeting with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, businessmen Carlos Slim Helú and his son Carlos Slim Domit, as well as Bernardo Gómez and Alfonso de Angoitia, Vice President and Executive Director of Televisa, respectively, left the National Palace.
At 5:30 PM, Carlos Slim Helú left through the parking lot of the National Palace, located on Correo Mayor Street, in a vehicle driven by his son Carlos Slim Domit.
Meanwhile, through the Corregidora 8 entrance, Bernardo Gómez and Alfonso de Angoitia walked out to board a vehicle and leave the historic venue.
This meeting between President López Obrador and these Mexican businessmen took place one day before the visit that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, US Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas, and US Attorney General Merrick Garland will make to the National Palace to participate in the High-Level Security Dialogue.
The meeting with the Mexican businessmen also occurs one day before the federal president travels to the southeast of Mexico to inspect the progress of the Tren Maya project, of which Section 2 is under the responsibility of Carlos Slim’s company, Carso.
