Chinese brands continue to arrive in Mexico, now it is the turn of Geely, which comes with an interesting proposal for our market. We got to know its first two models that will be officially launched in November. Here are the details.
You probably haven’t heard of Geely. It is one of the largest manufacturers of Chinese origin. It is in charge of manufacturing the latest Volvo models, now it arrives in Mexico and seeks to position itself as a volume brand in our country.
The first model is called Coolray, a subcompact B-SUV that will be the entry product in its portfolio. It measures 4.38 meters long, will have a 1.5-liter turbo engine with 172 hp and 201 lb-ft; it is coupled to a 7-speed DCT transmission and will be front-wheel drive.
The interior is technologically advanced, incorporating a 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, as well as front and rear radars. The exterior sports a sporty design with a rear spoiler and 18″ bi-tone wheels with red calipers.
The second model is a 100% electric vehicle called Geometry C. It will be the first of several electrified vehicles that will be arriving in the coming months. It has a 70 kWh battery that will be able to deliver up to 485 kilometers of range.
It stands out that it comes with advanced driving assistance systems (ADAS), second generation; it will be capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 in 7 seconds and type 2 charger.
Both models will be available until November; Geely seeks to have a network of 100 distributors throughout the country in a maximum period of 2 years and for the users’ peace of mind announced an alliance with DHL to supply spare parts in Mexico.
