MÉRIDA, Yucatan, September 30, 2023.- This Friday in the Cortés Sarmiento neighborhood of Mérida there was a macabre discovery, as a corpse in an abandoned property was found in an advanced state of decomposition.
The events took place this afternoon at 63-D and 6, two blocks from Plaza Oriente, when a motorcycle taxi driver parked in front of the property to enter and relieve himself.
Once inside he smelled a foul odor and noticed that there was a body full of flies and maggots, so he left the place scared and dialed 9-1-1 to report the incident.
Agents from the Secretariat of Public Security arrived at the site to secure the place, and it was reported that the body was a habitual drinker who stayed at the site.
We are awaiting the arrival of personnel from the Forensic Medical Service ( SEEMFO) to remove the body, and to determine if the man died due to his alcoholism or if it was due to an aggression.
