Last weekend, Morena’s survey to select the Coordinator of the Committees for the 4th Transformation Defense began. The novelty is that the survey only includes women, specifically five women.
Testimonies from several citizens who have been surveyed indicate that they were interviewed by phone, and they were asked about the following women:
- Verónica Camino Farjat, Senator.
- Alpha Tavera, President of the Morena State Executive Committee (CEE) with a leave of absence.
- Carmen Navarrete Navarro, Federal Deputy for the Morena – PVEM – PT Coalition.
- Rocío Barrera Puc, Federal Deputy for Morena.
- Jazmyn Villanueva, Local Deputy for Morena.
The survey includes direct questions and addresses topics like closeness to the population. One direct question is whether the respondent generates trust or not. Another question measures the respondent’s identification with the poor in Yucatan.
It is striking that the survey does not include men. This appears to be consistent with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador’s statements that the southeastern region should be governed by women.
It is known that during the Political Council session, the former Welfare delegate maneuvered to exclude Maestra Alpha Tavera, which triggered a massive protest by the party’s members.
