A silly prank” suspended classes at the Instituto Arrayanes, this Monday, Ocatober 23. There was a threat on social networks and a drastic decision was taken.
On Sunday, October 22, a couple of high school students shared a message on social networks with a warning:
“He and I planning Monday’s tirot3o (Whoever sees this, don’t go on Monday)” the message said.
The announcement circulated among students and their families so today the general direction of the campus took action and issued a statement.
“Since last night, we have been aware of a delicate situation involving two students of our institution,” it said.
“Although this situation did not occur in the school environment or during school hours, it is our responsibility to address it properly and with the seriousness it deserves,” the school representatives said.
The directors announced that the legal department established communication with educational authorities and the Yucatecan prosecutor’s office.
In this context, precautionary measures were taken, including the suspension of classes on Monday, October 23.
The school facilities are located one block from the Merida – Temozon highway and teach preschool, elementary, middle and high school.
“We understand that this decision may cause inconvenience for some families, and we offer apologies for any inconvenience this may cause,” the statement said.
The student who spread the message, today apologized to the school community through the following text:
“Yesterday I said something that I shouldn’t have, It was a silly joke and today I want to apologize so to the parents who saw it, I’m really sorry and it will not happen again” he wrote.
It is unknown what disciplinary measures will be applied to the “pranksters” who caused the false alarm. Many parents are saying that these students should be expelled.
