Tree falls on public transportation van in Merida

On Monday a Flamboyan tree was reported to have fallen on a van belonging to the Frente Único de Trabajadores del Volante (FUTV), on the San Lorenzo-Umán route, while it was picking up passengers.

MÉRIDA, Yucatan, October 23, 2023.- The events occurred when the vehicle was parked at a stop located on Itzáes Avenue, between Calle 71 and 73, in a video, the exact moment when the large tree collapses on top of the car can be can be seen.

Firefighters from the SSP Yucatan were on site to secure the area and control vehicular traffic, as well as workers from the Municipal Public Services of the City of Merida who were in charge of cutting the branches, since the accident occurred just at the morning rush hour.

In addition to the scare, it was reported that a woman was injured, but this has not yet been confirmed.
