“Next December, a large flow of national and foreign visitors is expected to be traveling by land across the Yucatan Peninsula”.

Thia was stated by Eduardo Córdova Balbuena, general manager of the Peninsular Region of Mobility ADO, who added that they foresee a flow of 600 thousand travelers, which will mean a growth of 20 percent.

“December is undoubtedly going to be a high season since that is what we have seen in recent seasons. We will have visitors from the center, the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, and other countries, something that is seen in the Turibuses. We estimate a growth in tourist arrivals of 20 percent for December,” mentioned the interviewee.

In addition, he commented that among the factors that may influence a large flow of travelers is the fact of Acapulco disaster, since many vacationers will look for other tourist destinations, including Yucatán since it not only has a beach, it also has archaeological zones, good gastronomy and warmth from its people.

“Security is also a fundamental attraction and the integration of all the state’s tourism products will mean that we will have an increase of 600 thousand visitors by land in December. It is a short season, but very explosive, and unlike summer, here we do not have valleys and peaks where the flow of people decreases,” he said.
