On December 16, the IE-TRAM will begin operations, the new route that will be integrated into the Va y Ven Transportation System, the only one of its kind in all of Latin America and the first in the entire Southeast of the country, which will be 100% electric.
It will begin operations on the La Plancha-Kanasín-Teya route, being a way in which the Maya Train will be connected to the city of Mérida, since the station will be located in the Gran Parque La Plancha.
The IE-TRAM is an electric means of transportation that has the benefits of a tram and the flexibility of a public transportation bus.
It will have all the benefits of the Va y Ven, where initially there will be only 10 units that will be operating on the La Plancha-Kanasín-Teya route.
Way to pay
Being part of the Va y Ven System, the IE-TRAM payment method will be with the electronic card, where the fare has not been confirmed so far.
Another payment method will be through bank cards, since this will be open, which can be done at stations and stops.
Ascend and descend
Likewise, it was announced that the ascent and descent of the units will only be in defined places along their route.
Also, at most stops the fare will be paid before boarding the bus, making boarding the transport units more agile.
