The sixteenth edition of the “ White Night, Top Art ” will take place on Friday, November 24, in which 330 free activities will be presented in a single night and they expect that close to 85 thousand people will enjoy this event, reported the director. of Culture of the municipality, Irving Berlin Villafaña.

In a press conference, the details of this event were announced, with more than a thousand artists participating, of which 75 percent are local and the rest from Colombia, Cuba and Spain, invited countries.

During this night, 84 art exhibitions will be offered in the city of Mérida, as well as music, fashion and gastronomy; Nine museums, three theaters, and 12 alternative forums will participate.

“There are new events, I think we are going to break the previous record of the White Night, which is 75 thousand people, we are going to reach this amount at least, I would expect it to be a little more,” he indicated.

He commented that they will have traditional events such as the Biciruta, popular music and dances, among the stellar ones are that to commemorate the 100 years of Walt Disney, for the first time the Chamber Orchestra and the Children and Youth Orchestra of the City Council of Mérida will present a show playing this music.

Berlin Villafaña said that among the innovations there will be a drone show that will be presented along the tourist and gastronomic corridor, about 100 artifacts will be taken off in the patios of the Great Park of La Plancha, in a show of about 7 minutes. There will be two presentations, one at 8 and another at 11 p.m.

“In addition, the participation of the Catalan company La Fura Dels Bauls, similar to Cirque du Soleil, which presents very large performing arts, we will have a very large urban art, the Santa Ana park area, there will be the Frente Cumbiero and the group Son Rompe Pera, with Colombian and Cuban music,” he said.

He highlighted that for the first time it will have headquarters on the outskirts of Mérida, as a measure to decentralize culture and bring it closer to all sectors of the city. Therefore, dances and shows will be presented, including “El Paleto”, in the park of the Pacabtún colony; The Méndez de Pilón will do the same in the Juan Pablo II subdivision, together with the comedian Tila María Sesto, in the Magic Neighborhood of La Ermita de Santa Isabel, where the Panucho Fair will be held from 6 in the afternoon.

He added that in this edition the “Island of Light” will be presented, a videomapping show with 360-degree interactive audiovisual narrative, in which a step-by-step journey through our history is provided, at the Monument to the Homeland, at 8 of the night.
