“Theater for All” Festival brings feature presentations to Yucatecan municipalities

Theater Festival for All will reach 12 municipalities until November 24 with performances about legends and traditions of the region.

Its director, Nicte Ha Ku, who shares the command with Eleazar Estrella, said that the two plots of oral tradition were adapted to the theater. She added that it is aimed primarily at girls, boys, and of course, the general public; The next performance will be in Sudzal on November 5, at 6:30 p.m.

“The objective of the collective is to take the oral tradition and share it with the public, to motivate and encourage them to have more communication between generations, between adults and children. We thank the Ministry of Culture for the invitation and for this opportunity, especially for the municipalities that we have to produce in municipalities and also share in municipalities,” he explained.

The head of the Department of Liaison and Education of Sedeculta, Teodoro Dzib Cituk, explained that the Festival “consists of giving opportunities to local groups, it is a strategy of Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal with the objective of decentralizing culture to the municipalities.”

He reported that the project will promote talent in the discipline since “the festival lasts from October 27 to November 24, and will have a total of 13 presentations. It contemplates four groups, two local, call groups of municipalities local, a state group, and a federal group.”

In addition to Ts’aaj Kuxtal, there will be Mayab Mool, who will be in charge of the play Los Cazapixanes; the Candilejas Theater Collective will represent Day of the Dead, and the Trupperías Foundation, with Kankabi’ok: The Legend of the Dirty Foot.
