As of December 15th, the Maya Trian operations will begin, with the route that runs from Campeche to Cancún.
On Monday, November 27th, it was announced that starting next Friday, December 1, the sale of tickets for the first stage of the inauguration of the Mayan train will begin.
This Monday, in the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the National Palace, the general director of the Mayan train, Óscar David Lozano Águila, reported that operations will begin on December 15, in the section that goes from Campeche to Cancún.
“It is confirmed that ticket sales begin on December 1 as instructed by the president,” said Lozano Águila during the press conference.
“We are going to start operations on December 15 on the section from Campeche to Cancún,” the president explained.
“Section three is already practically completed in the 159 kilometers of road between Calkiní and Izamal. We are going to make important progress that will allow us to start operations, we are going to make sure that the train is running as of December 15,” AMLO continued.
Prices
So far the official cost of the tickets has not been published, but Fonatur reported a few months ago that it would be 60 pesos for nationals, 80 pesos for foreigners, and free for seniors and children under 5 years of age, among others.
