During her Legislative Report at the Monument to the Revolution, the Frente Amplio Por México (Broad Front for Mexico) candidate for Mexico, Xóchitl Gálvez remembered the PRI member Luis Donaldo Colosio by ensuring that millions of Mexicans still hunger and thirst for justice in the country.

The senator stated that even though 30 years have passed since Colosio gave his historic speech at the Monument, his words still true today.

“Almost thirty years ago, in this same place, Luis Donaldo Colosio saw a Mexico with hunger and thirst for justice. Today that is still true, millions of Mexicans continue to hunger and thirst for justice,” she declared at the event in front of supporters.

She assured that it was the migrants and the farmers who were hungry and thirsty for justice as they had to leave their land because they could not find opportunities, as well as because of the loss of land for their crops and they had been left adrift.

“ We have to give answers to all of them, and those answers are not in the past,” referring to the criticisms of Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO) against past governments. She quoted the politician Heberto Castillo (former presidential candidate in 1988 for the Mexican Socialist Party): ‘Don’t look at where you come from, but where you’re going.’

“Enough of the obsession with history, that is not what we want, Mexicans do not want to live in the past,” stated the presidential candidate, who said that she longed to build a bright future for Mexicans.
