For the damage caused to an ATM for selling and recharging prepaid cards of the Va y Ven transportation system, Alejandro I. S., 22 years old, was arrested.
Agents of the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP) assigned to the State Investigative Police (PEI) in coordination with the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), executed the arrest warrant issued by a control judge.
The man, originally from Guadalajara, Jalisco, used a cross wrench to hit the machine, installed under the Periférico-Chichí Suárez bridge (35th Street), last Tuesday the 21st of this month at approximately 3:30 am.
The damage caused to the Va y Ven ATM resulted in detriment to users, who were unable to acquire or recharge their cards.
Based on the evidence obtained by the investigating agents and prosecutors, the arrest warrant was issued for his probable responsibility in the crimes of damage to the property of others committed against a public institution, and attacks on communication routes and means of transportation. He will remain at the disposal of the control judge for the continuation of the criminal proceedings against him.
