In the early hours of December 27, an accident occurred in the streets of the Portes Gil neighborhood of this city that left homes in the area without power.

According to the information collected, in the early hours of this day, a trailer was traveling along 8th Street in the aforementioned neighborhood. Upon reaching the section between 63rd and 65th streets, the body of the vehicle became entangled with several cables of the power lines and the telephone service, which, as it continued advancing, knocked down poles of the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) and the telephone service.

Homes in the area were left without electricity service due to the collapse of the poles, one of which fell on a parked car.

The tractor-trailer was stuck between the cables and the driver was detained while experts from the Ministry of Public Security (SSP) determined who was responsible for the accident, as they had to measure whether the trailer was at a standard height or if the cables were very low. There was uncertainty among the neighbors, as they feared that they would be left without service for several hours or even days. However, CFE personnel arrived at the site to verify the damage and begin the necessary repairs.
