The operations will be carried out both in Puerto Aventuras and in Playa del Carmen.

The Ministry of Public Security and Transit of Solidaridad will start its breathalyzer program on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year festivities, with two mobile units.

Arturo Pech Martínez, director of Municipal Transit of Solidaridad, mentioned that these operations will be carried out both in Puerto Aventuras and in Playa del Carmen, as part of the Guadalupe-Reyes operation, when the population usually drinks more intoxicating drinks at the traditional inns.

“In about three days we will begin these operations (…) it will be implemented both in Playa del Carmen and in Puerto Aventuras. Two filters are going to be installed that will be moving in different parts of the city,” said Pech Martínez.

Although these operations were already being carried out before the conclusion of the pandemic contingency due to the number of accidents, in December the local authority plans to intensify them.

In Playa del Carmen these operations are carried out mainly in the western approaches to the city, where the bulk of the population lives. In previous years, accidents have occurred that have left fatalities.
