At the state level, the dengue epidemic zones in Yucatán continue to be Cuncunul and Celestún, and the yellow or alarm hotspots, Uayma and Tizimín, said the SSA in its report “Dengue Epidemiological Panorama.”
Of these four municipalities, only in Tizimín the confirmed cases of dengue increased: from 878 (558 alarm or serious and 320 non-serious) to 888 (564 and 324, respectively).
The eastern municipality of Cuncunul remains with 34 cases of dengue (31 not serious and three with alarm or serious signs); the port of Celestún, with 100 cases (95 and five, respectively), and the eastern Uayma, with 49 (nine and 40, respectively).
As of December 4, Yucatán accumulates 5,597 confirmed cases of dengue with warning signs, 4,189 non-serious cases and 326 serious cases.
Alarm cases
That is, out of every 100 patients, 55 present warning signs such as abdominal pain, bleeding or persistent vomiting; 41 suffer a mild clinical condition and about three suffer the dangerous “shock” due to dengue that threatens vital organs and can cause death.
