The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) reported that the Mexican Ilana Gritzewsky Camhi, kidnapped in Gaza by the terrorist group Hamas, was released; However, another Mexican, Orión Hernández, continues to be detained.

Without giving more details about the negotiation process, in a second message, the chancellor published that they continue working for the release of three other Mexicans kidnapped by Hamas, one who was kidnapped in Gaza, and two crew members of the ship Galaxy Leader.
“I also thank the National Intelligence Center of Mexico for the excellent coordination with the @SRE_mx in this process. “We continue working for the release of the other compatriot held in Gaza, Orión Hernández, and the two Mexican crew members of the ship Galaxy Leader.”
In a statement, the SRE explains that for the release of Ilana Gritzewsky, a Mexican kidnapped in Gaza, they carried out coordinated work with various entities from the first moment.
Ilana Gritzewsky was born in Quintana Roo and at the age of 16, she went to live in Israel, with the Naalé program, which offers study scholarships to teenagers.
In an interview, her father said that she first lived in Eilat, where she worked, and then moved to Sderot.
They add that the release of the Quintana Roo native, kidnapped in Gaza by Hamas, involved multiple efforts by the Mexican authorities and the intervention of friendly countries, although they do not specify which countries those countries are.

The document says that “the Government of Mexico wishes to record its deep gratitude to the Government of the State of Qatar for its fundamental mediation work to achieve the release of Ilana Gritzewsky Camhi.”
The family of Ilana Gritzewsky is already in Israel. They indicate that the SRE kept in touch with the family all time, who are already with them in Israel.
Likewise, the Mexican Foreign Ministry described the “excellent coordination that the SRE had with the National Intelligence Center of Mexico, to achieve this result.”
Mediation efforts will continue until the release of Orión Hernández Radoux, the second Mexican national still held captive by Hamas, is achieved.
