On Friday, December 15, the IE-TRAM will be inaugurated along with the Maya Train to begin operating on December 16 on the La Plancha-Teya route, since the one that goes to Kanasín will begin trips until December 30.
Governor Mauricio Vila Dosal boarded the IE-TRAM to supervise the La Plancha-Kanasín route, which will become part of the Va y Ven Transportation System, the only one of its kind in all of Latin America and the first in the entire Southeast of the country. 100% electric.
There will be 32 units that will operate in total, of which 10 will operate in Teya and Kanasín, which have batteries that can reach up to 475 megawatts, and last for more than 400 kilometers.
Its routes will consist of 100 kilometers, in 5 high-demand routes, which will link the first square of Mérida with the Faculty of Engineering of the Autonomous University of Yucatán (UADY), Umán, Kanasín, Poxilá and Teya.
Initially, the IE Tram will operate on the La Plancha-Teya route starting this December 16, while the one that goes to the city of Kanasín will be after two weeks.

On December 30, IE-TRAM trips will begin on the route to Kanasín, since the units that will operate to the ‘Capital of Panucho’ are not yet in Yucatán.
Trips to Kanasín will stop at La Mejorada Park (Downtown Merida), passing through La Plancha and then heading to your destination.
The ticket cost will be 14 pesos in general fare with the Va y Ven card, while for students and seniors, it will be $5, and for people with disabilities, free.
