The Municipal Police of Mérida reports a “white balance” during the security and road operation implemented on December 24 and 25.

Only five arrests are reported, all of them for disturbance on public roads.

The paramedic team provided care to 14 people for illness or minor injuries, without requiring transfers to a clinic.

Similarly, there was a traffic incident, where the parties involved reached an agreement on the spot.

December operation implemented will be reactivated

In another order of ideas, a joint operation was implemented between the Municipal Police of Mérida, the Army, National Guard, State and Municipal Civil Protection, and the Secretariat of Public Security on December 22, 23, and 24 to verify pyrotechnics sales stands and make sure that they have the corresponding permit and comply with the established security measures.

It should be noted that this joint operation, which will be reactivated again on December 29, 30, and 31, aims to prevent accidents caused by fireworks.

The Municipal Police of Mérida appreciates the civic behavior of the people who have come to the Historic Center these days. This has allowed the December operation to be carried out appropriately and with citizen participation.
