Representatives from 15 different countries attend Yucatán Travel Mart 2023

Yucatán continues to position itself within the international market for the third time so far in the current Administration of the State Government led by Mauricio Vila Dosal, and as part of the tourism promotion actions carried out By the Secretariat of Tourism Promotion (Sefotur), the business meeting for the tourism sector “Yucatán Travel Mart” is held, with the participation of 118 Yucatecan companies with a total of 137 exhibitors.

Since last Friday, the arrival of representatives of 126 travel agencies and other important actors in the tourism industry from 15 countries began, including Germany, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, the United States, France, Guatemala, Holland, India, Italy, Mexico, Peru, and the United Kingdom, to learn about the tourist offer of Yucatán, in terms of services, infrastructure, products, gastronomy, culture, connectivity and much more.

After the weekend activities in different parts of the state, those attending this meeting met this November 28 and 29 at the Yucatán International Congress Center, to carry out the macro business roundtable, one-on-one meetings, with representatives of the 131 participating state companies, with whom 3,533 appointments had previously been confirmed, to exalt the tourist offer of Yucatán through pre-established one-on-one business appointments between Yucatecan buyer and exhibitor, and update the service portfolio, create new packages and have organized information on tours, experiences and hotels, to provide a better service to walkers, in addition to generating greater exposure of the tourist inventory and increasing the number of national buyers interested in the destination.

During these last two days of activities, the participants began by having one-on-one meetings with each of the local companies, who took advantage of the opportunity to consolidate what the wholesale travel agencies had known about Yucatan and its tourism offer, to generate business and work together to attract more visitors.

The head of Sefotur, Michelle Fridman, along with Lic. David Escalante, president of the Association of Tourism Promotion Agencies of Yucatán (AAPROTUY); Lic. Levi Abraham, president of CANACO-SERVYTUR and Lic. Gerardo Agüero Enríquez, the representative of the Mexican Association of Hotels in Yucatán (AMHY), was in charge of officially welcoming the participants of this important meeting, which has The objective is to highlight the generation of business, the increase in contracts and presentation of Yucatan’s tourism assets to the most important actors in the international tourism industry.

It should be noted that the 137 Yucatecan exhibitors and companies participating in this meeting are from different points of the 6 tourist regions, such as Mérida, Hunucmá, Valladolid, Sinanché, Espita, Temozón, Chocholá, Abala, Telchac, Izamal, Seyé, Baca, Tekax, Tinúm, Maní, Rio Lagartos, San Felipe, Homún, Tixkokob, and Yaxcabáh.
