Walmart de México and Central America reported that it will have the Comirnaty vaccine, from the pharmaceutical company Pfizer, available against Covid-19. This vaccine will be administered by certified and trained medical personnel in more than 130 offices adjacent to Walmart Express and Walmart Supercenter store pharmacies, in 19 states of the country.
Recently, the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) approved the Comirnaty vaccine for sale to the public in Mexico. According to the store chain, the vaccine will have a price of 845 pesos. With this, Walmart joins several pharmacies that already have the product available to the public.
The firm detailed that the presentations of the Comirnaty vaccine that will be applied in its pharmacies are for people over 12 years of age, available starting Thursday, December 28. The option for children from 5 to 11 years old will be available starting Thursday, January 4.
According to the website enabled by Walmart, there will be five supermarkets in Mérida that will have the vaccine available for adults, but only three will sell the vaccine for children.
The branches with COVID-19 vaccines available in Mérida are the ones in the City Center and Town plazas, in addition to the ones located in Campestre. They can also be purchased at the Express stores in Oriente and Montejo.
“Walmart of Mexico and Central America will offer the Comirnaty vaccine in Mexico as one of the most effective tools to protect against COVID-19 and its complications, as well as expanding access to immunization throughout the country,” the company indicated.
This vaccine includes the specific update for the Omicron XBB.1.5 seasonal variant of the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
The company enabled the following Walmart Pharmacy site where customers will be able to consult the offices adjacent to the pharmacies of the Walmart Express and Walmart Supercenter stores that have the Pfizer Comirnaty vaccine available. This same week, Farmacias Benavides announced the sale of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine, which, like other establishments, is already offering it to the public who wants to purchase them this winter season.
