The first Mexicana de Aviación flight that departed from AIFA to the Tulum airport was diverted to Mérida, after the ‘Felipe Carrillo Puerto’ landing strip was allegedly covered in fog.
It was revealed that the Mexicana de Aviación flight that departed this Tuesday, December 26, from the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA) bound for Tulum, Quintana Roo, was diverted after the landing strip in Tulum was covered in a dense fog.
According to the Flightwave page, Mexicana de Aviación flight MXA1788 failed to land in Tulum, causing it to spin several times in the air, but when it failed, it had to be diverted to the Mérida airport, in Yucatán.
There are 150 passengers on board along with the Mexicana crew, and so far no official position has been issued regarding the alleged diversion.
The Mexicana de Aviación flight was not the only one affected, another VivaAerobus flight also had to be diverted to Mérida.
