A fatal accident that took place in the early morning hours of this Sunday, January 21, claimed the lives of four young people on the Mérida-Tizimin federal highway, Motul-Cansahcab section (about kilometer 38).
According to what was discovered at the scene of the tragedy, the compact car in which the deceased was traveling collided with a truck that was parked on the shoulder.
The rear part of the pipe was destroyed while the compact car was reduced to scrap metal, with its 4 occupants trapped inside, all of them young people between 19 and 25 years old.
Only one could be rescued in serious condition by SSP paramedics and firefighters, and he was transferred to a clinic in Mérida.
The incident occurred around 4 a.m. this Sunday when the occupants of the compact vehicle were leaving the Motul Fair dairy.
So far the bodies have not been identified.
The road was closed to traffic almost a kilometer before the tragic event and was partially open until 7 in the morning on Sunday, January 21st.
