This Sunday morning, a section of the road to the “Chiquilá” park   collapsed when a group of tourists were heading to that freshwater spring.

The damaged section is right where a pipeline passes that serves to transport water from the estuary to the mangrove area and vice versa. The bus got stuck in place, breaking across the entire width of the road.

In this regard, Mayor Floricely Alcocer Marfil published on her Facebook social network account that the State government is already aware of what happened and the necessary measures are being taken to repair the road in the shortest possible time.

He indicated that that road will remain closed, “which, as is generally known, is close to the water crossing and could be affected again.”

Mayor Alcocer Marfil called on the population to avoid traveling through that area.

“With responsibility and as a community we ask for your attention and understanding so that there is no circulation in it and we take extreme care,” said the municipal president on the social network.
