Boat with tourists sinks in Isla Mujeres, authorities report four casualties

Quintana Roo Civil Protection of the state along with the Mexican Navy carried out a search operation to find the people who were traveling on the boat.

 A boat with 16 tourists on board sank in the Caribbean Sea, off the coast of Isla Mujeres, on Monday, January 29. The preliminary report says there are at least four dead tourists.

The ship left Puerto Juárez, Cancún, and was heading to Isla Mujeres. Among the deceased is a minor.

The ship that sank was named “The Goddess of the Sea.”

The Secretariat of Civil Protection of Quintana Roo together with members of the Mexican Navy, Port Captaincy, municipal civil protection of Isla Mujeres, and the Secretariat of Citizen Security of the state of Quintana Roo carried out a search operation to find the people who were traveling on board this boat.
