More than 90 thousand visitors were welcome in the first two weeks of this month to the two zoological parks of Mérida, Centenario and Animaya.
Visited by locals, and as well as by national and international tourists, these spaces, located one in downtown Mérida and another in the western outskirts of the state capital, receive people who drive there, or who arrive by bus, given the good connectivity that each one these Zoos has.
Reports indicate that the Animaya Bicentennial Zoological Park received 16,646 visitors from January 1 to 17; while 74,547 people attended El Centenario in that same period.
“Animaya” opens its doors from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., And it is being visited by students, tourists, and families who enjoy the diversity of animals and events offered by the City Council.
According to reports, weekends are the busiest times; while El Centenario, located on Itzaes Avenue on 59th Street, is also open from Tuesday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and stands out for its proximity, attracting thousands of families throughout the week.
